What is the Taylorville Public Schools Foundation?
The Foundation was formed under the guidelines of the 501c3 Federal charter as a non-profit corporation to serve as a vehicle to support academic excellence throughout our school system.

What is the mission of the Taylorville Public Schools Foundation?
The mission of the Foundation is to acquire, develop and distribute financial and other resources to enhance the quality and effectiveness of education for all students, staff, parents and the community at large enabling them to develop and maintain a love for life-long learning.

What are purposes of the Taylorville Public Schools Foundation?
• To provide funds to enrich the academic experiences for students enrolled in the Taylorville Public Schools.
• To provide opportunities for businesses and individuals to support Taylorville Schools through tax deductible contributions.
• To support projects which promote educational excellence.

Is the foundation independent from the Board of Education?
Yes, The Taylorville Public Schools Foundation is completely independent of, but works closely with the Board of Education, the Taylorville Education Association, the Taylorville Support Personnel, Superintendent of Schools, students, parents, and the community as a whole.

How is the Foundation governed?
The Taylorville Public Schools Foundation consists of a 9 member governing board representing the Taylorville Public Schools community including Mt. Auburn and Stonington. There are ex-officio members and committee members as well.

How will the funds be spent?
It is important to note that the Taylorville Public Schools Foundation will not be funding the regular instructional program extracurricular activities. These are properly the responsibility of the Board of Education. Rather, it will work to stimulate educational excellence by sponsoring projects that enrich the learning environment. These could include class enriched projects, school-wide activities, and teacher grants.

Who determines how the funds will be spent?
Project proposals will be solicited by the Foundation Board from the school staff. Parents and other members of the community also will be welcome to make suggestions to the Taylorville Public Schools Foundation. To send an e-mail to provide suggestions, please visit the Contacts page.

What are some of the project goals of the Educational Foundation?
There are many projects that are desirable for our school system which go beyond normal budgetary limits. Some example of potential projects include mini-grants for innovative teaching projects, teaching equipment, school-wide educational activities, as well as the establishment of an endowment fund for the Taylorville Public Schools Foundation.
