Once
a family volunteers or is assigned by district request to a new attendance
center, the district honors their new situation and, unless circumstances
become unique, they will not be asked to move again.
|
-
If
after the first year of attending a "new" attendance center as a
result of a request or assignment by the district, the student wishes to
return to his/her normally assigned center, every effort will be made to
allow that student to return. (Assuming the class size will support it
and no one else would be asked to move.)
|
-
Students,
who after attending school in their required attendance center move from
that attendance center boundary area to another attendance center boundary
area, may remain in their original school if the enrollment is not too
great. However, if the class enrollment becomes great enough for
students to be reassigned to another building, those students living outside
the regular boundaries will be the first to be transferred.
|
-
On
initial enrollment, students will enroll in the attendance center that is
within the boundaries that they live. (Exception to this rule is if
the new enrollee has a brother or sister (currently) enrolled in an out of
boundary attendance center, he/she may enroll in the same school).
|
-
If
a parent requests that their child attend an attendance center out of their
boundary lines, he/she may make written request to the building principal
after registering in their original school. The request will state the
reasons for the requested change.
The
building principal will meet with all building principals and the assistant
superintendent to rule on all requests. Requests will be determined by
class size first and reason second. Capricious requests will not be
honored.
-
Once
a child has been allowed to attend an attendance center out of their
boundary, they will be allowed to stay at that building with exceptions
consistent with item #6.
-
Building
principals annually, prior to registration, will review their anticipated
class lists and boundary maps to insure that students are placed according
to these guidelines.
